HOW TO - Update Your Device - DFU - iOS & Android – tCheck

How do you know if you need to update your device? You can check the About screen and select Update. If you can answer yes, to any of the questions below - then you need to update your device. See below for instructions on how to update your device or get out of being stuck in purple light (DFU) mode.

Does your device show all purple lights?
Is your device stuck on purple lights?
Does your device not turn off without taking out the batteries?

To update your device to the current firmware or app version, please follow these instructions.

While this doesn't happen often, it can get locked up in the process and will need to be restarted. To do that please follow the instruction below based on your mobile phone type.

iOS INSTRUCTIONS

Put your tCheck into update mode - do the following:

Insert batteries. The purple lights should come on automatically.
On your mobile phone, make sure you are not running the tCheck app. You may have to press your home button two times to see all the running apps. Swipe up to "close" the app.
open the tCheck app.
Go to Settings > select "Check for firmware updates" or "Check for app update".
Select the device (the device will be labeled as tCheck2_DFU).
Observe on the mobile phone the progress bar (uploading: xx%) - when you see Update Complete > click the 'OK' button. Lights cycled through colors and are now 2-Blue and 1-Green.
Select the 'Run Test' button.
Click Find Device (upper right under your battery life).
Select your device shown on the "Select a device" screen. Lights changed to 3-Blue.
Select your infusion > answer the questions, if necessary, and click the 'Begin Test' button - and continue to follow the prompts - until you receive your rest result.

ANDROID INSTRUCTIONS

Put your tCheck into update mode - do the following

Insert batteries. The purple lights should come on automatically because it is stuck in DFU mode.
On your mobile phone, make sure you do not currently have the tCheck app "open". If you do, close the app.
open the tCheck app.
Go to Settings > select "Check for firmware updates" or "Check for app update".
Select the device (the device will be labeled as tCheck2_DFU).
Observe on the mobile phone the progress bar (uploading: xx%). Lights cycled through colors and are now 2-Blue and 1-Green.
When you see the message Device Firmware Update Complete Your device has been updated! > click the 'OK' button.
Click the 'Run Test' button
If the app doesn't connect to the device > click ... (3 vertical dots at the upper right of the app) and select 'Find Devices'.
Select your device shown on the 'Select a device' screen. Lights changed to 3-Blue.
Select your infusion > answer the questions, if necessary, and click the 'Begin Test' button - and continue to follow the prompts - until you receive your rest result.
